As a “getting started with mobile development”, this is actually a great resource to have for both of the major platforms"

I'm delighted to announce that the first volume of Multimobile Development has now been printed and reached the shelves of Amazon and other booksellers worldwide!
Apress' team has been working incredibly hard over the past few weeks to get the content for the first Multimobile Development volume ready to go to press. It's all looking good to hit the shelves/racks/disks in October.
The book will now be presented in two volumes - mainly because there was too much to say to fit it all into one. Volume 1 will cover iOS and Android. Volume 2 will cover Windows Phone, Windows Mobile, Blackberry and HTML5. There will also be some free chapters hitting this site in the next few weeks.
The first ten chapters of the book are now available on the Apress Alpha program. This is a program whereby you commit to buying the ebook at the normal price, but you receive PDFs of each of the chapters as they become available. It's good for readers as it gives you access to the material before the book is committed to press. It's good for me and Apress because it allows us to get great feedback on the book, again before it's committed to press. The book can be found here:

In preparation for the first chapters of Multimobile Development appearing on Apress' Alpha program, the support forums are now online. Powered by the excellent
Yet Another Forum, there are fora for general discussions and each chapter will receive their own forum. The forum site can be found at
http://forums.multimobiledevelopment.com/.
Source code for the Android projects and the generic Web application are now posted online at
code.multimobiledevelopment.com. This is a very early version for supporting peer review of the book - the Web application particularly is missing some bits and pieces. However the Android version is feature-completed and pretty well polished. Enjoy!
For those who are unware, Apress offer something called the "Alpha Program" which is where they publish content for upcoming books before the books have been committed to print. I'm pleased to announce that Multimobile Development will be part of the Alpha Program, so watch this space for updates! Hopefully won't be too long before some of the chapters turn up on it. See:
